Windsor prepares for Girls High School Flag Football Championships

Highschool flag football teams for girls are where now the head barely above the horizon - the chance to play for the championship. Windsor is hosting the central Connecticut conference girls flag football championship on Saturday, June 1st.

"Yeah, man, I am so stoked, I'm so pumped," Windsor senior Tashya Hite announced. "I just can't wait to see that they will realize we are really good today.  "

We are hosting our first ever girls flag football event. For the first time in our history, 12 teams take part in a spring season that the year has been conclusive with the championship games.

"I remember growing up and my older brother was playing football they never thought that I could beat the boys at that sport. " "However, it feels amazing for my sister to know that I am a girl who can play boys sports like football," Windsor junior girl Jeniya James said.

Girls flag football has been noted as emerging in the narrow circles of Connecticut. Coaches and students intend to put the sport to the vote where they hope to have their school prioritize it as a varsity sport by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference.

It's pro players' exclaiming endorsement. Jason Pinnock, a defensive back for the Giants and a Windsor high school student will be attendance at this year’s championships, and will provide the girls his whole support.

The game event continues from 9.  m.  to 4.  m.  on May 11.
