Slain Miami Norland Senior High School football coach Keon Smith honored at school
15- year old football coach, Keon Smith was gun down in Opa-locka on Monday and on Friday, his football team laid down to pay their tribute to him.
Miami Norland Senior High School is a football team coached by Coach Smith and they prayed for him and shared their heartfelt feelings about his life not only in the football pitch and in other aspects of his life.
Each player from the Miami Norland football team brings a bottle of Gatorade towards the center of the field and forms a circle and chants right there to what they do in every game.
Unfortunately, the idiots who hire and fire coaches in that league will see that their quarterback coach is no longer part of the team. As a tribute to him, Smith is now being credited for changing the face of Dade county football- its going to be remembered, said Darryel Bethune who coached with Smith.
The women’s soccer team was managed by a coach named Bethune and the football team was managed by Walt Walker.
He decided to give them the opportunities they needed to keep on pursuing the things they enjoy doing.
About twenty over years, me and him remain great friends The opportunity I had was that I coached him and I also got a chance to coach with him”.
He take me ev’rywhere he go He always need me contua’ wherever he coach, He go, “Everybody want me Coach Walt you want me. ”
During the time smith was the quarterbacks coach, some of the players who benefited from his coaching include the quarterback ennio yapoor, who claimed that he was not just their coach but everyone’s.
“This means his teachings and his respect for them will no longer be present when they grow up” Yappor’ quoted.
Yappor’s admission comes in saying that it is motivation for him as an athlete as senior year starts.
Police are still on the lookout for the suspect responsible for the shooting.
