Schwetz returns home to coach Burlington-Edison High School football
High school football is the number one game in the community, with every home event gathering a large crowd. And trying to replace it would be an inconceivable solution to the escalated tuition fees.
Schwetz, a 2013 graduate of Burlington-Edison, worked there as Marysville Pilchcuk's head coach for the last two seasons.
On the other hand, he chose to come back to Burlington-Edison because being in Marysville Pilchuck was not the reason he was uncomfortable.
“It was an ultimate blessing to come back to a place I love – the one where I was born and raised, and had many friends. ”"Burlington-Edison High School is not only football, it’s also the love, spirit and unity that the whole student body possesses. I care about Burlington-Edison High School much more than I care about Tiger football. "Yes, that is just it, it

"The privilege to begin the long journey back up the I-5 to a familiar spot came with one great advantage: it entailed coming back home! That was simply too irresistible. "This period was much more perfect for our family. The timing touched the heights of perfection. One of my dreams is to be an engineer. I don't know much about my future, but this whole engineering thing is clicking. Everything just matched up.
Schwetz is not only going to play at the Burlington-Edisson school as a female soccer player, but they will also have physical education classes at the school.
To date, the new coach indicated that he likes the work ethic that the students he have met have displayed, noting that these are quality athletes who may enjoy killing terrors as a career in the future.
Mr. Malloy says: "Oh, there is a special sort of a class that is going to be the juniors this year. They are a focused team of championship caliber football players, displaying excellent ability all on the defensive side of the ball.
"They are a group of driven athletes that are hungry and have the same goal to win a lot of games and turn us back on the map again. These kids will lead the way, and then I'm really excited about the underclassmen. "
The Burlington-Edison School District hasn't had a successful season in the last couple of years. Still, they are taking the approach of not the past but of what the future can hold.
"No doubt about it, the future lies in our hands," he said. "I do not think this is going to be easy at all, but there is a lot to be done by me, by my assistant coaches, myself, obviously our athletes as well. We are all ready to put in efforts. Our fall excitement is ahead and so we are ready.
So, how will players and fans react to the sight and sounds of a professional game that is playing under the light on Friday nights?
His belief that football team is the physical one is contagious, and he adds that in the league by which players are non-physical they are already non-winners.
Coach Gaals told his squad that they want to make an object of the line of scrimmage which has a modern look. "We are going to utilize the spread formation with short and quick routes to allow our playmakers to work outside with little engagement from defenses. "
"Our offensive style will be based on the power of our advantage in size. It will also feature a modern sense to the play-action. It will be similar to what you see in college and pro on Saturdays and Sundays. "
But on the offense, this will probably not influence the Tigers physically. According to Schwetz, this is going to be the case while they are literally out there fighting.
Our idea is to be tooth for the tooth , also not if not then we would rather have them on their knees and defending. Our plan is to be aggressive, creative in changing coverages, in bringing pressures to generate multifaceted offenses and give them a hard time.
"So, imagine our battle plan: we play aggressively and attack opposing offenses. First of all, the front end of our fight time is controlling the line of scrimmage and then, our philosophy of playing the game will be all about the behind-the-lines offense".
Long before emarking his journey to Marysville Schwetz was a case coach at Coconino High School in Flagstaff, Arizona, for a period of 3 1/2 years.
He competed for four years in the NCAA Division III, Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon. And, he served as the school's assistant coach for two years. Through the years, he finished his bachelor's in exercise science while he followed it with his master's degree from Grand Canyon University.
When at Burlington-Edison, Schweting played under coaches such as Bruce Shearer and Herb Lehman. He became a Conference Northwest All-Conference quarterback in his senior year as Lehman was his head coach during the 2012 campaign.
And now his program is on.
Asserts Schwetz (director), "Create this program based on its potential. ""Which will be nothing short of historic, and giving my all to Burlington for a very long time to come and building a program that’s a source of pride for our Tiger community of both the old and the young, as they come to Kirkby Field to watch games, that's something I truly look forward to.
