Ohio high school football coaches reveal hall of fame class of 2025
Dual-threat quarterback who rated as one of the best backs to ever play the game, Five and Dime, served as an assistant coach at Columbus’ Bishop Watterson High School; former Central teammates and Berea-Midpark head coach Jeff Arndt, former Delaware Hayes head coach and OSU assistant Ed Terwilliger, and former OSU quarterback and Delaware Hayes head coach Brian White are officially part of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association
From 1999 to 2019, White controls 199-58 at Davidson and led the Wildcats to reach two Division I state champions in the seasons 2006 and 2009 along with twelve league champions and five state semi-finalists. He was assistant head coach at DeSales between 1990 to 1996 then had season at Dublin Scioto in 1997 and at Groveport in 1998.
Coached at Olentangy from 1989-2012, Terwilliger accumulated a record of 138 wins and 99 losses whereby the Braves achieved six seasons of post-season play, and the regional runner-up position in the year 1999. He was a student player at Ohio University and was an assistant at Glouster Trimble from 1979, Westlake from 1980 to 1983 and at the Groveport Madison cluster from 1984 to 1988.
Terwilliger has been employed by Ohio State’s programme as the director of high school relations and a recruiting assistant since 2015.
Half a century of noshows Arndt’s coaching career encompasses capacities at Akron Hoban, Sugarcreek Garaway and Reynoldsburg besides seven years as head mentor in Amanda-Clearcreek (1974-80), however, his most lengthy association was as assistant to Ron Hinton at Amanda and Chillicothe. It resulted state champions in 1999 & 2000 Div V and Arndt was defensive coordinator of the team while Aces were state runners-up thrice in the years 1997, 2003 & 2004.
After coaching at Chillicothe for a few seasons, Arndt joined hands again with Hinton in 2010 as defensive coordinator at his side but had to retire after nine seasons.
Joining Fearing in the hall-of-fame are players; Larry Kehres (Mount Union), Mike Pavlansky (Canfield, Lisbon and Mentor) and Jim Tsilimos (Carrollton and Lisbon).
Kehres implemented the successful program at Mount Union, the Purple Raiders, where he coached for 27 seasons from 1987 to 2012, and led the team into 11 national champions and 21 records of undefeated seasons. He was a head coach with the franchise from Johnstown in the 1973 season.
