MJ Daniels honored and remembered on high school football field
There was evidently palpable sorrow that hit George County Friday evening in a balloon release ceremony of the Oilers football star MJ Daniels with balloons in the favor of the University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi.
People from the football team ,his peers, teachers, relatives and friends who come to pay their last respects and mourn the death of the young man who was full of life and much potential on the field for the George County High School Rebels team where he played for the team as a player.
This is I think speaks a lot that the whole county as well as the community came to support MJ (Friday), but they all understand the kind of heart he had, said family friend Tranez Nix. “They knew the kind of man he was. ”
Those were the information found that Daniels was shot and died Tuesday night in Hattiesburg.
Since Daniels got to provide for what he did on the field, there are a lot of individuals who will recall as to what he did off of it the most.
“Some of the fondest memories people could recall of him is from his smile, then him coming around and playing ball,” said family friend Erica Lawrence. “People will recall his achievement, the smile that he was always giving on the field and just a perfect kid because I do not think I have seen this boy misbehave in my lifetime. ”
The likewise reflected in George County Community, and this was evident on Friday afternoon during his celebration of life.
Some of the family members that spoke out on his behalf included, “MJ was a great kid,”, Kirsten Russell. “As for I have never seen or heard anything that point him to be involve in to any type of trouble and it is all the result of the way that he has been brought up. His mother raised such a wonderful boy and it is really unfortunate for him to be killed in this manner.
“It was as if she said the right thing: a legend was taken, a son was taken, a brother was taken…. ”
Three teenagers are under arrest and been charged with capital murder in connection to his shooting.
After the incidents that occurred on Friday where several young men were arrested by the police, people are relieved that justice has been done.
Those are the sentiments of the former George County High School coach Chad Jack who described that as a blessing. “I believe that that will at least alleviate the stress for the family, knowing the people who caused this acts of violence to occur to someone who did not deserve it are in custody.
“Both myself and my wife would like to thank the Hattiesburg Police Department and the rest of forrest county for doing their job and making sure those young men are where they are suppose to be. ”
