Huskies pick up another Oregon-Produced TE in Baron Narone

For some reason or the other, the University of Washington football team had a moment’s reluctance to go in for the Oregon-produced recruit.

As of this writing, Crowell, a incoming freshman tight end from Bend and Johnson, a incoming freshman cornerback from Tualatin are the only two sheer Husky freshmen athletes hailing from the neighboring state of Oregon and upon arrival in Montlake.

Ah, but Arizona mouthpiece Jedd Fisch is sourcing more players south of the Columbia River that match his football requirements and bagged a commitment over the weekend from West Linn High School’s Baron Narone – where Elijah Molden went to school too.

Crowell’s running buddy and fellow tailback, Narone at 6-4, 235, one inch shorter and 13 pounds lighter than Crowell, announced his decision on Monday, choosing Washington’s Huskies over the two coasts, the university of California, Arizona State and Oregon State. He is one of four players who verbally pledged to attend the UW this past weekend, joining the fray alongside edge rusher Victor Sanchez Hernandez from Mukilteo, Washington, wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck from Marana, Arizona, and safety/LB Donovan Robinson from Wilmette, Illinois.

Narone for the class of 2025, he is currently ranked the number player in Oregon, and he has a 4 star rating while Crowell joined the team in the new year as a 3-star recruit for 2024.

Not surprisingly, the UW loves nothing more than to beat its nemesis University of Oregon who was stocked with Oregon kids during a period, Schloredt and Sixkiller are examples.

Narone owes Huskies an assist for Jonathan Smith in helping him in deciding to join the team. Before Smith moved on to Michigan State, the tight end had cemented the decision to playing for Oregon State and their previous coach.

Narone, thought to be a hard-nosed, physical presence, has indeed been part of much West Lion team success the past several years and a tremendous Lion squad this past season of 11-0 and state 6A championship game against Central Catholic before a 12-7 loss. He also was a productive player at that we briskily runs from the end.

As a sophomore in year 2023, he was playing as right fielder in his team where he was successful in winning the prestigious 6A state baseball championship.

So, while the Huskies are stocking the Oregon players under Fisch, they may look forward to the distant future, where they will have both of the dual tight ends on the field in Crowell and Narone along with Johnson corner, and a promising running back in Sanoe who is committed for 2026 from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego Oregon.
