A couple of local coaches have been included in this year’s OHSFCA Hall of Fame class in 2025 as declared in Ohio.
Three past great coaches in the NAIA: Former head coach of Canfield High School, Mike Pavlansky, Former head coach of Lisbon High School James Tsilimos and Former head coach of Mount Union College Larry Kehres.
Pavlansky served as the head coach at Canfield for 23 years and achieved 256 wins, 76 losses. He guided the Cardinals to 13 playoff appearances among other milestones that included winning the state championship in 2022.
Tsilimos’ total coaching period in Lisbon came up to 25 seasons; the Lisbon Blue Devils won the state championship in 1995.
In each of these aspects of the sport, he is the leader of the all-time wins for the football program.
Nathan Kehres, who was the head coach, trained the team for 27 years at Mount Union with an all-time record of 332-24-3.
He secured 11 national championships which is a record in the whole history of college football.
