East Texas players earn THSBCA All-State honors

In its recent development, several players from this East Texas have been selected by the THSBCA All-State baseball teams.

At the Class 5A level, Hallsville junior third baseman Kade Chappell was named as a first team junior scholar. Completing the third team were Lufkin senior pitcher Kaleb Hill, Pine Tree senior third baseman Collin Estes and Hallsville senior outfielder Ethan Miller.

Canton junior outfielder Nathan Parker earned a first Team selection in Class 4A. Beating him on the first team was Texarkana Liberty-Eylau’s WT Jones, a senior pitcher and Triston Haugh, a junior second baseman. For the second-team selections, Bullard was able to name two, shortstop Chase Randall and outfielder Dylan Malone, both seniors. Joining Figgin on the second team were Carthage junior outfielder Sam Watson and Liberty-Eylau junior third baseman Britain Pipes. Rounding out the third team includes Van junior Landon Smith outfielder, Canton junior Reed Vannorsdel second baseman, Carthage senior Dillon Davenport pitcher and Kilgore sophomore Colt Bullard first baseman.

The first team in the Class 3A consisted of Rains high school senior catcher Grant Guidry, Rains senior Shawn Robertson from outfielder, Malakoff junior Jack Hustead as a shortstop and Central Heights senior second basemen Luke Taylor. The second team went to the junior pitcher from Malakoff’s team. Third in line was New Diana senior Austin Kerns who made it to the team as a shortstop.

Overall, the Class 2A first team was comprised of Harleton junior outfielder Gage Shirts, Gary sophomore outfielder Sam Colley and Kerens junior pitcher Kannon Ritchie. Joining the second team were Frankston sophomore third baseman, Carson Bizzell, Harleton junior Carson Wallace, Garrison junior Dallas McFadden, and Douglass junior Riley Coffman. Joining the third team were Frankston senior outfielder, Ryan Harper, Douglass senior outfielder, Andy Melton, and Shelbyville senior shortstop, Dylan Parker.
