Daniel Chavez takes over as new head football coach at Riverside

From personal voice, one can clearly infer that Daniel Chavez has the passion, dedication and the desire to lead a high school football program.

In the future, it is the turn of Del Valle High School’s 2003 graduate to actively participate in the policies. It was the afternoon of Friday, he received an offer to be the head football coach and the athletic coordinator in Riverside high school.

It replaces Gary Recoder who resigned from his position on his way to become the head football coach at Class 5A Bel Air. Riverside’s athletic division is classified under 4A.

”This is where I want to be,” Chavez responded. “It is good to be in this community and this school is just nearby where I grew up…this las has had success and we are looking forward to continuing and establishing more success here…The tradition in this school is great and we should continue with that. ”

Chavez has contributed greatly to the program’s achievements in the last few years as the team’s offensive coordinator. The Rangers triumphed in two post season matches this year, and earned a bi-district championship during the last season. He contributed in nurturing prospects such as Angel Munoz, Jose Guardado, and Adrian Estrada among the gifted bastmen.

Leading returning sophomore Carlos Rojas useful after showing his potential last year at wide out and who already has an offer from UTEP.

Finally, Rojas had the following to say: “It is good that Chavez who is a coach gets the job, he understands us and we know he is hard working. ” “While he was a freshman last year playing in varsity team , he did not consider me as a freshman but rather a team member slamming the ball… I am so much looking forward to this coming season. ”

Chavez also coached at Chapin, Socorro and Arizona along with a variety of coaches in which he took part namely, Polo Gonzalez, Tury Poblano and Primo Vasquez.

“Being with various coaches and programs has been quite helpful so I have been able to see and take note of amounts and perhaps get to use that knowledge in this program,” added Chavez who was also a coach of the successful Rangers baseball team. ‘I am happy about this chance. I have been waiting for it. The kids have been training and they understand all the things that come with it from me’

Chavez is one among different new head coaches that the city had recently seen. Joining the list of new coaches, Omar Garcia is assigned to Horizon, Ryan Warner for Pebble Hills, The new Chapin coach is Marco Chavez, Jon Elliott to Irvin and the Cathedral’s new coach is Hristo Gonzalez.
