BGSU men’s basketball adds Nevada high school standout Alijah Adem

He’s moving to Bowling Green; Alijah Adem, a 6-foot-2-inch guard who attends Spring Valley High School in Nevada, has recently signed up as one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class. 

He comes in to be added to the list of Preston Squire, Jaxon Pardon, Youssef Khayat, Braelon Green, Javontae Campbell, Marcus Johnson, Jr. Exacte and Derrick Butler as the incoming members of the Falcons in the years of 2024-2025.  

“The reason I came to Bowling Green was because of coach Simon and his staff back then,” Lunga Adem reasoned in. “I trust him and love the idea of being in a team That is why, I would like to join the kind of a program that feels like a family I also think that I can contribute as much as the program can contribute to me.  

When Todd Simon was the head coach of the Southern Utah program, he began pursuing the services of Adem almost two years ago.   

The last several years Adem got interest from other schools which include UC Santa Barbara, Houston, Colorado, Pepperdine, UC Irvine, Princeton, IUPUI, Houston Christian, Texas A&M and Utah State.  

Despite his short playing career in high school, Adem only spent two seasons at Spring Valley High and scoring a total of 1044 career points, which makes him the first ever player to attain such feet for the school in just 41 matches.  

Unfortunately, his first year of collage was cut short by the COVID-19 outbreak After the extinction of his freshman season the Adem was awarded the Nevaday 4A Player of the year in his second season. He led the state with 26. 4 points scored and 7 points allowed has always been the mantra of a very successful team. 8 assists per game.  

Nonetheless, he did not play his junior season because he was recovering from a torn ACL.  

Last season Adem was announced a McDonald’s high school All American finalist after scoring an average of 25. 7 points, 7. 8 assists, 5. 7 rebounds and 2. 6 steals per game. Adem shot 62. 2% from the Field goal attempts, 60. Two assistants shoot 2% from beyond the arc, while only eight help make 89. 8% on free throws.
